Laura Glusman

Alternating between her more abstract images and landscapes, this artist´s photographs are conceived from the notion of construction: construction of scenes to be re-treated in one case, construction of a situation through the lens in the other. Either way, Laura Glusman is always conscious of the weight of her decisions. Beyond the fact that photography took from painting its role as the privileged means for a faithful reproduction of reality, this artist is particularly interested in the idea of artifice that underlies her type of work. Not even the photographic image will be able to be a completely trustworthy transcription of the real image since it will be mediated through the apprehension of he who captures it and the eye of the one who receives it.

For this motive, we can find in her work an allusion to the idea of fiction: the fiction of the photographed image, in which reception changes according to the context and the personal baggage of the person who looks at it.

Laura Glusman (Rosario, Pcia. de Santa Fe, 1971).She studied photography with Adriana Lestido and Andrea Ostera and workshops on photographic skills in Berkeley\'s University, in California, USA. During the year 2000 and 2001 she studied at the International Center of Photography of New York.
